Medusahead Symposium and NWMA Conference to build on ENLC Winter Weed Conference efforts in battle against noxious and invasive weeds

  • by

The Nevada Weed Management Association (NWMA) is hosting its 2015 conference in conjunction with a Medusahead Symposium, October 26-29, 2015, at the Nugget Hotel & Casino in Sparks, Nevada. The theme of this event is Catalyst for Change: Opening the Conversation for Changing Nevada’s Noxious Weed Program.

The conference will encompass several presentations on topics including the politics of noxious weeds, greater sage-grouse and noxious weeds and the Healthy Habitats legislation. Presenters for these sessions have been invited from throughout Nevada, as well as several neighboring states.

This conference is a continuation of the Winter Weed Conference held by ENLC in January of 2015, which brought together leading researchers, land managers, natural resource professionals, business owners, public leaders and interested citizens for a collaborative, team-focused strategy session aimed at creating a plan of action to turn up the volume on the Nevada weed management dialog.
