Bob Koch

Chairperson

Bob received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, both from California State University, Chico, and went on to work for the City of Chico for 33 years in various management positions, including Assistant City Manager and Human Resources Director, until his retirement in 2005. He is a board member for two Chico-area historic preservation associations, and a former member of the City of Chico Airport Commission.

Bob was previously a grant writing contractor for Tempra Board & Associates and principally responsible for grant research and writing for the ENLC account. His grant work included the Edwards Creek restoration project, various program assistance grants for eastern Nevada cooperative weed management areas (CWMAs), and a grant for ENLC’s Annual Winter Weed Conference.

While a three-year high school forestry class and an interest in fly fishing sparked his initial interest in environmental issues, Bob believes it was his grant work for ENLC and his trips to eastern Nevada that truly cultivated his appreciation for the landscapes of the Great Basin and developed his desire to become more active in its conservation and restoration.
