Weed of the week: Russian Knapweed

  • Flowers: pink, in dense heads, bracts with papery margins
  • Leaves: blue-green, slightly hairy, lower ones with lobes
  • Stems: up to 3 feet tall
  • Reproduction: seeds, sprouts from widely spreading roots
  • Problems: invades rangeland, degrades wildlife habitat
