William’s advocation for wildlife and natural resource conservation has spanned over three decades. Initiation to the traditional values of hunting, fishing and the appreciation of our environment came at an early age; when laced up boots were the primary vehicle for exploring the sage brush valleys, lakes, streams and the higher elevations of the Great Basin.
A twenty-year stint as a Board member of the White Pine County Wildlife Advisory Board, launched a journey of conservation and management of Nevada’s wildlife and an understanding of the value of safeguarding and enhancing our renewable resources, while balancing multiple use and detrimental challenges.
William has been a member of the White Pine County Coordinated Resource Management Steering Committee for close to thirty years, numerous Ad hoc and Sub-committees that delt with the development of Elk management plans, travel management, the Steptoe Valley WMA, Greater Sage Grouse and wild horses, to name a few.
The thrill of cresting a ridge at dawn, geese landing among the decoys, calling a bull elk into eye contact range and landing a trout on a new hand tied pattern are some of the motivational rewards of a commitment to conservation.
